West Coast Eagles pursue AFL players Gryan Miers and Trent Rivers

West Coast Eagles list manager Matt Clarke has confirmed the club is pursuing Geelong forward Gryan Miers and Melbourne player Trent Rivers to bolster their scoring power and connection in the front half of the ground.

Despite Miers undergoing a medical with the Eagles, a move appears unlikely. Miers is currently contracted to Geelong for two more years, and his manager has reiterated his commitment to the Cats. Geelong's executive general manager of football, Andrew Mackie, also expressed belief that Miers will remain at the club for the 2027 season.

In addition to Miers, the Eagles are targeting 25-year-old Trent Rivers. Clarke noted that Rivers, a premiership player with Western Australian roots, would be an ideal fit for the club's age profile and roster needs.
