AFLW West Coast Eagles club debutants season opener Mia Russo

The West Coast Eagles are set to field five club debutants in their AFLW round one match against the GWS Giants. Following a maiden finals appearance, the team is integrating significant new talent for the upcoming season.

Top draft pick Mia Russo, an on-baller with attacking capabilities, and mobile full forward Jovie Skewes-Clinton will both feature in the opener. They are joined by three other debutants: Ella Slocombe, Keeley Skepper, and Isabella Shannon.

Coach Daisy Pearce noted that Skepper will provide coverage for Mikayla Western, who is sidelined for the season due to a knee injury. Pearce praised the new recruits for their competitiveness and professionalism.
