West Dunbartonshire police increase patrols following rise in crime
Police Scotland has reported a rise in criminal activity in West Dunbartonshire, with an average of 26 crimes recorded per day over the past week. During this period, authorities received 500 calls and recorded 184 crimes, including 40 domestic incidents, 26 disturbances, and 18 traffic collisions.
In response to these figures and resident complaints regarding speeding and illegal e-bikes, police have implemented targeted enforcement, resulting in vehicle seizures and reports to the Procurator Fiscal. Additionally, dedicated community patrols will be deployed in Clydebank town centre to address a recent increase in youth anti-social behaviour. Youth Engagement Officers are also collaborating with local high schools to identify individuals involved in such activities.
