West Florida defeats Central Arkansas 42-14 in Division I debut

The University of West Florida (UWF) secured its second consecutive victory as a Division I program, defeating No. 24 Central Arkansas 42-14 at Estes Stadium. Ty'ray Davis led the Argonauts by accounting for four total touchdowns, including a 7-yard rushing score and three passing touchdowns to Brite Cannon, Tyler Dostin, and Gage Armbruster.

Despite playing in temperatures exceeding 110 degrees during the first half, UWF dominated the matchup in their United Athletic Conference debut. The Argonauts recorded 404 yards of offense, blocked a punt, and converted three takeaways into 14 points. This victory follows UWF's recent upset of No. 16 Southern Illinois.

Central Arkansas, which holds a 21-year history as a Division I member, has only lost a home-opening game twice in that span. The loss brings the Bears to a 1-1 record, while UWF moves to 2-0.
