West Godavari car accident leaves two dead and two missing

Two people have died and two others remain missing after a car plunged into the Narsapuram canal in the West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. The incident occurred on Saturday night near Itempudi in the Erragaruvu Mandal while the occupants were traveling to Mori village in the East Godavari district following a wedding.

Police reported that the driver lost control of the vehicle due to heavy rain, causing it to veer into the canal. Of the five people in the car, one managed to escape by grabbing onto a tree, but the others were swept away by the current. On Sunday, emergency responders recovered the bodies of Pothula Lakshmi Bhanu and D. Nagireddy. Search operations continue for Rajaram and Sai Surya.

In a separate incident in Telangana, a man named Durga Tirumalesh drowned in the Nagarjuna Sagar backwaters in the Nalgonda district after being swept away by the Krishna River while swimming with friends.
