West Ham faces goalscoring struggles in Championship campaign
West Ham United is experiencing significant difficulties with goal production despite being the Championship’s highest-scoring team. The club's three primary centre-forwards, Joël Piroe, Taty Castellanos, and Pablo Felipe, have combined for only five league goals. This lack of finishing has been highlighted by numerous missed opportunities, including 28 attempts during a recent 3-2 defeat against Southampton.
Notably, central defender Konstantinos Mavropanos has outscored the recognized strikers with five league goals. Additionally, midfielder Tomáš Souček, who has been sidelined for much of the season due to an ankle-ligament injury, has matched Piroe's tally with three goals scored as a substitute.
In other player developments, Manor Solomon has struggled to make an immediate impact following his £5m move from Spurs. While he has recorded two goals and two assists in 12 matches, his performance has been marked by frequent dispossession and a lack of end product. However, statistical data shows he remains in the top 4% of Championship wingers for chances created.
