West Ham fan pays £99,999 for Mavropanos match-worn jersey

A West Ham United supporter has paid £99,999.99 in an auction for the match-worn jersey of defender Konstantinos Mavropanos. The shirt was worn during a high-stakes derby against Millwall, which marked the first meeting between the two London rivals in 14 years.

Mavropanos scored a crucial equalizer with a header to secure a 2-2 draw after Millwall had led 2-0 at halftime. The jersey was auctioned via the club’s official website, where interest far exceeded expectations. The winning bid of nearly £100,000 significantly surpassed the previous highest offer of £4,200. While two different fans submitted the identical winning amount, the jersey was awarded to the first bidder, identified as ‘Bidder136125’.

The astronomical price has generated significant discussion on social media, with many fans expressing shock at the final figure.
