West Ham United blocks bid for Diouf while posting record transfer earnings
West Ham United rejected Brentford's approach for Senegalese left‑back El Hadji Diouf, stating the 21‑year‑old is unsellable despite interest from rival clubs. The club’s decision comes as it solidifies its defense for the upcoming Championship season.
In the same period, West Ham recorded a historic €179 million from player sales after its relegation from the Premier League. The biggest deals were the €99 million transfer of midfielder Mateus Fernandes to Tottenham Hotspur and the €80 million move of winger Crysencio Summerville to Saudi club Al Hilal, which together stabilised the club’s finances.
