West Ham United thrashes Wrexham 6-0 to reach Championship top

West Ham United secured a dominant 6-0 victory over Wrexham at the London Stadium, a result that propelled them to the top of the Championship table. The match featured six different goalscorers, setting a new club record for the most unique scorers in a single fixture in West Ham's 131-year history.

Jarrod Bowen opened the scoring in the 28th minute, followed by Joel Piroe before the halftime break. In the second half, Konstantinos Mavropanos scored with a header, alongside goals from Taty Castellanos, Mohamadou Kante, and Manor Solomon. The win marks a significant turnaround for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, following a period of inconsistent form.

Conversely, Wrexham suffered their heaviest defeat under manager Phil Parkinson. Parkinson stated he would ‘analyse myself’ and take accountability for the performance, noting that the team struggled to respond once West Ham gained momentum. The loss leaves Wrexham searching for consistency after a difficult start to their campaign.
