Scarles said, “We’re going to need a big squad, with three games a week, so it’s going to be a lot of games, a lot of quick turnovers, so we’re going to need a fit and, like I said, a big squad that is ready to step in whenever it’s needed.” The club is also targeting free‑agent right‑back James Tavernier, who left Rangers after an 11‑year stint, to add experience to its defense.
