West Ham United prepares for ownership change as Vanessa Gold agrees to sell shares

Vanessa Gold announced a provisional agreement to sell her 25.1% shareholding in West Ham United to a consortium led by Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi, with PCP Capital Partners and Ashland Forest Capital Partners involved. The deal is subject to a pre‑emption rights process that gives existing shareholders two rounds, over roughly two months, to match the offer. West Ham United confirmed it is aware of the announcement and said the transaction will not affect day‑to‑day operations, adding that no further comment will be made until the process concludes. Gold’s statement said the original sale to Daniel Křetínský fell through and that she “wanted to be open with our fans about where things stand and my intentions.” Journalist Henry Winter praised Staveley and Ghodoussi as “football people” who could bring a more hands‑on approach to the club.

The pre‑emption process will determine whether the current owners exercise their rights or the consortium acquires the shares, with the club’s preparations for the new season continuing unchanged.
