West Ham United shareholders block Amanda Staveley bid
West Ham United shareholders have successfully blocked Amanda Staveley’s bid for club shares by exercising their pre-emption rights. This move effectively closed her route to becoming a major shareholder through the Gold family stake.
Following the exercise of these rights, the 25.1% stake was distributed among existing shareholders. David Sullivan purchased approximately 13% of the club for £77.7 million, while Daniel Křetínský acquired just over 9% for roughly £54 million. Tripp Smith bought approximately 2.68% for £16 million, and Terry Brown and Daniel Harris collectively acquired about 0.37% for £2.3 million.
To consolidate ownership, David Sullivan and other shareholders subsequently sold shares to Daniel Křetínský, allowing him to reach an estimated 46% stake, making him the club’s largest shareholder. The expected ownership structure is approximately 46% for Křetínský, 40% for Sullivan, and 11% for Smith. David Sullivan will not hold an operational role or return to the board, and new board positions will be confirmed once transactions are complete.
