West Ham United signs Norwegian winger Edvin Austbø

West Ham United has reached an agreement to sign 21-year-old Norwegian winger Edvin Austbø from Viking FK. The transfer is expected to be completed following a medical scheduled for this weekend.

Austbø, a Norwegian U21 international, joins the club after a breakout season in the Eliteserien, where he recorded 10 goals and four assists in 28 appearances. He is noted for his ability as an inverted wide forward, particularly his acceleration and ability to drive inside from the left flank.

While reports vary on the exact financial terms, one source indicates a bid of approximately £10 million was accepted, while Transfermarkt estimates the figure at 13 million euros. Austbø has signed a four-year contract with an option for an additional season. He previously played for Viking FK, where he made 78 senior appearances and scored 18 goals.
