West Indies aim for unbeaten Test year against Bangladesh

West Indies head coach Daren Sammy has stated the team is going “all out” to finish the year without a Test series loss. The regional team is scheduled to face Bangladesh in a two-Test series, marking their first opportunity to end a calendar year unbeaten in Test cricket since 1994.

Following a series win against Sri Lanka and a draw with Pakistan, the team enters the series with high spirits despite recent financial challenges. Cricket West Indies recently announced a 25 percent reduction in international players' retainer fees to address a financial and competitive crisis, and players have yet to sign contracts for the upcoming period.

Sammy emphasized that strong performances in the final stretch of the World Test Championship cycle could improve the players' negotiating power with the board. He noted that finishing in the top five of the championship offers additional ICC prize money and incentives.
