West Indies cricketers win dual ICC Player of the Month awards

West Indies cricketers Justin Greaves and Hayley Matthews have both been named ICC Players of the Month for July, marking a rare double for the nation. This is the first time West Indies players have won both awards simultaneously.

Hayley Matthews secured the women’s award following a dominant performance in the ODI series against Ireland. During the July series, she scored 265 runs across three matches, including back-to-back centuries, and contributed significantly with the ball, taking several wickets to help secure a 3-0 series victory. This marks the fifth time Matthews has received this honor.

Justin Greaves earned the men’s award for his performances in Test cricket. His contributions included a vital 180 against Sri Lanka to help secure a series win and a standout bowling performance against Pakistan, where he took five wickets for 27 runs in the first Test.
