Bondowoso Police arrest man for Al-Quran blasphemy video

The Bondowoso Police have arrested a 24-year-old man, identified by the initials AS, for allegedly committing religious blasphemy in a viral video. The suspect, a resident of Trotosari Village, was apprehended in less than 12 hours following the circulation of the footage on social media.

In the video, AS intentionally placed the Al-Quran against his private parts and buttocks. During interrogation, the suspect claimed he recorded the content independently after being enticed by an anonymous online party with a promise of 1 million IDR. Police seized several items as evidence, including a smartphone containing the recording, bedsheets, and underwear.
