West Java Government plans ITB scholarships for 1,000 underprivileged students
The West Java Provincial Government is developing a scholarship scheme to support 1,000 underprivileged students at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). Governor Dedi Mulyadi stated that the program concept is currently being formulated to expand higher education opportunities for children from low-income families in the region.
This initiative aims to complement the existing West Java Provincial Scholarship 2027, which currently provides educational funding for 500 ITB students from West Java. The current program targets students from the 2023 to 2026 cohorts and requires a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.
Additionally, the provincial government is planning advanced scholarship programs for top graduates. This includes providing educational assistance for 10 undergraduate graduates to pursue master's degrees, as well as 10 top master's graduates. The selection of majors for these advanced scholarships will consider regional development needs and technological advancements in West Java.
