West Java hosts strategic events for IGIC 2026

West Java has been designated as a strategic location for the ‘Road to International Grand Imams Conference (IGIC) 2026’ series. The initiative aims to promote religious diplomacy, harmony, and global peace.

The regional activities commenced with a national seminar at UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, followed by religious gatherings at the Masjid Pusdai Jawa Barat. Sabilul Alif, the Chairman of the IGIC 2026 Steering Committee, noted that West Java’s strong Islamic traditions, educational institutions, and history of producing scholars make it a vital hub for this movement.

Under the theme ‘Masjid Harmony, Religious Diplomacy and Global Peace,’ the conference seeks to reposition mosques as centers for education and peacebuilding rather than just places of worship. The forum is intended to empower mosque imams as moral leaders capable of addressing global humanitarian issues and strengthening international brotherhood.
