West Java local governments manage infrastructure and tax initiatives

Local governments in West Java are implementing various administrative and infrastructure initiatives. In Cirebon Regency, officials are working to resolve a significant data discrepancy regarding public street lighting (PJU). While PLN data indicates approximately 66,000 lighting points, the Transportation Agency reports only about 30,000. This gap impacts regional electricity billing, as many points currently operate on a flat-rate system regardless of whether the lights are active.

In Cianjur Regency, the Transportation Agency has repaired 700 damaged street lighting points between January and August 2026, with a total annual target of 1,000 points. Repairs are primarily focused on urban areas and are driven by community reports.

Additionally, the Cirebon Regency Government has introduced an incentive program for village governments that successfully settle their Land and Building Tax (PBB) obligations. Through the Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda), 44 Umrah trip quotas have been prepared as prizes for villages that meet specific criteria for speed and volume of tax payments.
