West Lesvos calls for parent association elections by year-end

The Union of Parents and Guardians Associations of the Municipality of West Lesvos has announced that elections for all local parent and guardian associations must be held by December 31, 2026. According to current Greek legislation, specifically Law 1566/1985 as amended by Law 4415/2016, these elections are required every two years during even-numbered years.

The Union is calling for mass participation and urges all associations to conduct elections for new Boards of Directors in compliance with legal statutes. This includes organizing General Assemblies, appointing three-member electoral committees, and ensuring secret ballots. The Union also emphasizes the importance of maintaining uniform terms across all associations within the municipality to ensure consistency in future election cycles.
