West Midlands Safari Park to host finish of 412-mile charity run
Matthew O’Connor and Joe Hughes will undertake a 412-mile charity run in September to raise £30,000 for The Azaylia Foundation, a charity supporting children with cancer.
The nine-day challenge involves running nearly 50 miles per day. The route includes stops at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, Oxford Children’s Hospital, and Birmingham Children’s Hospital. During these visits, the runners will deliver ‘Jessie’s JoyJars’—containers filled with toys and activities to comfort young patients.
The run will conclude at West Midlands Safari Park, coinciding with the fifth anniversary of The Azaylia Foundation. The charity provides support to families, funds treatments, and backs research into childhood cancer.
