West Point and Holly Pond claim area volleyball titles

Several local high school volleyball teams have secured area tournament titles and advanced to the AHSAA sub-regional round. West Point claimed the Class 4A Area 13 championship after defeating Fairview 3-1 in the final. Fairview, having previously eliminated Good Hope in five sets, will move on to the sub-regionals to face the Area 14 champion.

In Class 1A Area 13, Meek won the title by sweeping Phillips 3-0, while Addison also secured a sub-regional berth after defeating Hackleburg. In Class 3A Area 10, Holly Pond captured the championship by defeating Hanceville and Vinemont. Vinemont also advanced to the next round following a 3-0 victory over Susan Moore.

Cold Springs earned a spot in the sub-regional round after finishing as the runner-up in Class 2A Area 9. Other local teams, including Cullman, Good Hope, Hanceville, Cullman Christian, and St. Bernard, were eliminated from postseason play.
