West Region of Romania receives urban development and green infrastructure proposals

Local administrations in Romania's West Region have submitted projects totaling over 52 million euros for green infrastructure under the West Regional Program 2021-2027. These initiatives aim to expand and modernize parks, plant native vegetation, and implement irrigation systems to support biodiversity.

In the Caraș-Severin county, four projects from Reșița, Caransebeș, Anina, and Moldova Nouă, valued at approximately 7 million euros, focus on climate resilience and urban quality of life. These plans include amenities such as bicycle paths, playgrounds, smart lighting, and improved accessibility for persons with reduced mobility.

Additionally, the Integrated Urban Development Strategy for Reșița has prioritized two major rehabilitation projects for funding. The first is the energy efficiency and renovation of the Dacia Cinema, intended to modernize its interior, equipment, and exterior surroundings. The second is the conservation of the UCMR Old Villa, aimed at preserving historical heritage and creating new public spaces for socio-cultural activities.
