West Sumatra government investigates former procurement head

The West Sumatra Provincial Government has clarified the status of Cerry, the former Head of the Bureau of Goods and Services Procurement, who is currently under investigation by an Ad Hoc Team for alleged disciplinary violations.

Regional Secretary Arry Yuswandi confirmed that Cerry took a seven-day annual leave following a viral video incident. The leave was granted to allow the official to stabilize psychologically before undergoing a comprehensive examination. Yuswandi stated that the leave complies with Government Regulation (PP) Number 17 of 2020, noting that while Leave Without State Pay (CLTN) is prohibited for officials under investigation, annual leave remains a legal right for civil servants.

The leave period has ended, and the Ad Hoc Team is proceeding with a thorough investigation into the alleged misconduct to ensure there is no special treatment for the individual involved.
