West Sumatra Governor calls for expanded transportation connectivity

During the 2026 National Transportation Day (Harhubnas) ceremony in Solok Regency, West Sumatra Governor Mahyeldi Ansharullah called for the expansion and strengthening of transportation services across the province. He emphasized that connectivity should extend beyond urban centers to reach rural areas, including villages and settlements, to support community needs such as school access.

Reading a mandate from Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi, the Governor highlighted that safety must be a moral responsibility implemented in the field rather than just an administrative procedure. Mahyeldi urged local district and city governments to continuously evaluate public transportation needs to ensure services are fast, affordable, and adequate for all citizens.
