West Sumatra Governor Mahyeldi emphasizes unity and security

West Sumatra Governor Mahyeldi Ansharullah has called on the youth to strengthen national unity and remain vigilant against threats such as drug abuse and social provocation. Speaking at the 98th Youth Pledge Day ceremony in Padang, Mahyeldi emphasized that the spirit of the 1928 Youth Pledge must be maintained to ensure national development and prevent societal division.

In a separate engagement, Mahyeldi also recognized the contributions of the Indonesian Navy's Kodaeral II in maintaining regional stability and supporting community development. During a transition ceremony for the Kodaeral II commander, the Governor highlighted the military's role in food security, social assistance, and youth character building, noting that coordination between the navy and local government is vital for the strategic coastal areas of West Sumatra.
