Sumatera Barat holds tax awareness event to boost regional revenue

The West Sumatra provincial government held the ‘Gebyar Pajak 2026’ event to mark the 81st anniversary of the province. The initiative aims to increase public awareness regarding tax compliance and provide appreciation to taxpayers.

Governor Mahyeldi Ansharullah emphasized that motor vehicle tax is a vital revenue source for regional development. To encourage compliance, the government has introduced several service innovations, including Samsat Nagari, Samsat Malam Minggu, payment services during Car Free Day, and e-Samsat kiosks. The Samsat Nagari service has expanded to remote areas and border regions to ensure accessibility for all citizens.
