West Village townhouse to host Kips Bay Decorator Show House
The 189-year-old landmarked Georgian townhouse located at 80 Washington Place in New York City’s West Village has been selected as the site for this year’s Kips Bay Decorator Show House. The event, which serves as a premier showcase for high-end interior designers, aims to raise funds for the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club.
Twenty-two designers are currently transforming the six-level property, which includes terraces and a rooftop overlooking Washington Square Park, into a series of creative spaces. The showcase is scheduled to open to the public on September 16.
The historic residence has a diverse past, having housed notable figures ranging from the composer of ‘The Stars and Stripes Forever’ to modern celebrities. Most recently, the property was listed for $21 million before being removed from the market in June.
