West Virginia and Pitt men’s soccer teams secure first season wins

West Virginia University men’s soccer secured its first victory of the season with a 1-0 win over St. Bonaventure in its home opener. Sophomore forward Julen Recalde scored the decisive goal in the 62nd minute following a play by defenseman Aurelien Cormier. The win brings the No. 23 ranked Mountaineers to a 1-1 record for the season.

In separate collegiate action, the Pitt men’s soccer team earned its first win of the season by defeating Bucknell 3-1. After Bucknell equalized in the 58th minute, Pitt responded with a penalty kick converted by Anders Bordoy in the 68th minute to reclaim the lead.
