West Virginia announces virtual job fair and wildlife disease reporting tool

WorkForce West Virginia announced the next Statewide Virtual Job Fair, scheduled for Wednesday, August 5, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The event, open to both employers and job seekers, builds on three years of virtual fairs that have registered 40,010 job seekers, 5,535 employers and 17,999 job openings. For the August 5 fair, 941 job seekers, 110 employers and 942 openings are expected, and participants must register in advance.

The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources unveiled a new online tool for reporting wildlife disease and mortality. Built on ArcGIS Survey123, the portal lets the public upload photos and location data of sick or dead animals, helping wildlife specialists assess health events. “This application will allow the public to report potentially sick or diseased wildlife, providing important information for wildlife resources specialists,” said Paul Johansen, chief of the Wildlife Resources Section.
