Collegiate sports update: Big 12 and Big Ten competition results

Various collegiate athletic competitions took place across the Big 12, Big Ten, and other conferences.

In volleyball, No. 9 Arizona State secured its first conference win with a 3-1 victory over Cincinnati, highlighted by a strong performance from No. 12 hitter Noemie Glover. Meanwhile, Iowa State rallied from a 2-1 deficit to defeat UCF 3-2 in a five-set match, maintaining an undefeated record in Big 12 play. Nayeli Ti’a led the Cyclones with 20 kills, while libero Rachel Van Gorp recorded 23 digs.

In women’s soccer, No. 10 West Virginia earned a 2-0 shutout victory against Iowa State, with goals from Sophia Nickel and Abbey Olexa. Conversely, the Iowa women’s soccer team suffered a 3-1 loss to No. 8 Ohio State.

In football, preparations are underway for a highly anticipated matchup between No. 14 Iowa and No. 5/6 Ohio State at Kinnick Stadium. The game marks the first time since 2006 that both teams have been ranked in the top 15 simultaneously.
