WVU football players JaCorey Thomas and NaQuari Rogers cleared to play

West Virginia University football players JaCorey Thomas and NaQuari Rogers have been granted eligibility following a preliminary injunction issued by a Monroe Circuit Court judge in Indiana. The ruling affects approximately 100 college athletes seeking recourse regarding new NCAA eligibility rules.

JaCorey Thomas, a former Georgia safety, is now eligible to play for the Mountaineers. Thomas previously attended an NFL rookie minicamp with the Carolina Panthers but did not sign a professional contract, a distinction that helped facilitate his eligibility. He is expected to provide immediate depth to the WVU secondary.

Additionally, former Utah running back NaQuari Rogers is joining the West Virginia roster. Rogers, who previously played for Campbell and New Mexico, is expected to bolster the team's running back depth without significantly altering the current depth chart led by Cam Cook.
