West Virginia Sports Betting Market Expands with New Bonuses and World Cup Offers

West Virginia's sports betting market, launched after the 2018 Supreme Court decision, now features five licensed casinos that each operate up to three mobile sportsbook apps, giving bettors roughly eight to nine options. The state taxes sportsbook revenue at a low 10%, encouraging competitive promotions such as deposit‑match bonuses, bet credits and odds boosts. Operators like DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM and others must comply with consumer‑protection rules and geolocation requirements for legal wagering.

BetMGM is promoting the FIFA World Cup quarterfinals with state‑specific offers. In West Virginia, new users can claim a "bet $10, get $150 in bonus bets" promotion using code BROAD150, while bettors in other U.S. states receive a $1,500 first‑bet bonus with code BROAD1500. The promotions apply to the July 11 matches England vs Norway and Argentina vs Switzerland, allowing bettors to place wagers on moneylines, totals and other markets.

These incentives aim to attract new customers and increase betting volume ahead of the tournament's semifinals.
