West Wimmera Action Group gains access to Canberra MP regarding dingo reclassification

Mallee MP Anne Webster has announced that the West Wimmera Action Group has secured representation in discussions regarding a federal appeal to reclassify the dingo population in the Big Desert as a threatened species.

Marty Colbert, a farmer from Nhill, recently met with MP Anne Webster and staff for Environment and Water Minister Murray Watt in Canberra. The goal of these meetings is to ensure farmers have a voice in the legislative process, as they seek to provide input on how potential reclassification might impact their operations. While advocates argue that the dingoes in the Big Desert region are unique and facing extinction, the action group aims to address the practical consequences of such protections on local landholders.
