Westchester County authorities address sexual assault and witness tampering cases
In Westchester County, two separate violent criminal cases have been addressed by local authorities.
Segundo Pucha-Carchi, 56, of Port Chester, was sentenced to 25 years in state prison for the sexual abuse of a 12-year-old girl. He received an additional 2 to 6 years for bribing a witness, to be served consecutively. The charges stem from incidents occurring between December 2023 and October 2024. Pucha-Carchi was also convicted of witness tampering and criminal contempt after attempting to influence the victim's testimony while in custody.
Separately, Alberto Botero, 39, of the Bronx, has been arraigned on charges including attempted rape, assault, and sexually motivated burglary. Botero is accused of attacking a mother and daughter inside their Greenburgh home. According to prosecutors, Botero entered the residence and physically assaulted both victims before being apprehended by responding officers from the Greenburgh Police Department.
