Western Australia gold explorers Pilbara Gold and PLC Resources expand drilling and surveys

Pilbara Gold (ASX:PGL) has accelerated its drilling programme at the Mt York Project in Western Australia’s Pilbara region, completing 5,680 m of diamond drilling across four zones and operating three drill rigs on double‑shift. The company plans to drill more than 50,000 m in total, with initial assay results expected next month, and is preparing an airborne electromagnetic survey to target additional sulphide‑bearing gold systems.

Meanwhile, PLC Resources is conducting a high‑resolution airborne magnetic and radiometric survey over its Abbotts North gold project in the Murchison region, supported by $36,000 of Western Australian government co‑funding. The survey follows a recent reverse‑circulation drilling campaign at the Rochefort prospect, with assay results pending, and aims to generate new drill targets across a largely unsurveyed section of the Abbotts Greenstone Belt.

Both companies are seeking to define new gold resources in Western Australia, leveraging expanded drilling and advanced geophysical techniques to inform forthcoming resource estimates and guide future exploration.
