Western Australia to ban smart glasses in public classrooms

Western Australia is set to ban smart glasses in public school classrooms to protect students and teachers from unauthorized recording. Education Minister Sabine Winton announced the prohibition, which is scheduled to take effect at the beginning of Term 4.

The decision follows concerns that smart glasses, which can record and live-stream audio and video without consent, are becoming increasingly affordable and accessible. The crackdown aims to prevent individuals from being secretly recorded during school hours.
