Western Chakhesang Hoho promotes economic self-reliance

The Western Chakhesang Hoho (WCH) hosted the Community Business Meet 2026 in the Chümoukedima district of Nagaland. Held under the theme “Economic Self-Reliance and Entrepreneurship,” the event brought together business owners, professionals, and aspiring leaders to discuss sustainable economic growth and collaboration.

Kudecho Khamo, MLA and Advisor for Civil Administration Works Division, addressed the gathering, urging the community to move beyond a reliance on government employment. He emphasized the importance of integrity, market research, and financial literacy, noting that ethical practices and customer trust are essential for long-term credibility. Khamo encouraged participants to leverage the community’s traditional strengths and human resources to combat poverty and backwardness.

The meet included a plenary session focused on business experiences and emerging opportunities. It also featured grassroots entrepreneurship, such as a chemical-free soap venture. The gathering concluded with resolutions to revitalize the Western Chakhesang Business Association and to establish the business summit as an annual event.
