Western Digital and SanDisk Shares Jump on AI Storage Demand

Analysts raised price targets for Western Digital, with Cantor Fitzgerald lifting its target to $900 and Melius Research to $1,050, citing a generational semiconductor cycle driven by expanding AI infrastructure and a surge in high‑capacity hard‑drive demand. The stock rose more than 10% in a single day.

For SanDisk, Bernstein upgraded its target from $1,700 to $3,000, while Jefferies and Susquehanna set targets of $3,000 and $3,250 respectively. The upgrades were attributed to new long‑term supply contracts that include prepaid financing and pricing mechanisms, which analysts say will stabilise the storage‑chip market. SanDisk’s shares jumped 10.9% to $2,273.73.

Both companies, recently spun off from Western Digital, are benefitting from increased storage requirements for AI training and inference workloads, fueling a broader rally in the semiconductor‑storage sector.
