Western Force win Super Rugby Australia title
The Western Force have won the second edition of Super Rugby Australia, defeating the NSW Waratahs 53-26 in the final held in Perth. The Force completed the tournament undefeated, securing four wins in four matches.
Dylan Pietsch scored a hat-trick during the final. Despite his performance, the winger was not selected for the upcoming Bledisloe Cup against the All Blacks due to a recent serious foot injury, though the match may aid his future selection prospects. Other notable players in the Force lineup included James O’Connor and Kurtley Beale.
The tournament, which ran from September 12 to October 3, serves as a high-level competition for Australian franchises to extend the season and provide talent for the Wallabies. The Force finished at the top of the standings with 13 points, ahead of the Waratahs (11 points), Brumbies (4 points), and Reds (2 points).
