Western Greece delegation strengthens ties with Zhejiang Province

A joint delegation from the Western Greece Region and the Regional Development Organization (PED) met with officials in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, to strengthen strategic cooperation and innovation ties with China.

During the meeting, Xu Wenguang, Executive Vice Governor of Zhejiang, welcomed the Greek delegation and emphasized the importance of continued exchanges of expertise. He expressed his intention to officially visit Western Greece next year.

Nektarios Farmakis, Governor of Western Greece, highlighted the region's increasing international presence, noting that the current delegation includes local mayors to represent citizens and local communities directly. The discussions focused on transformation, innovation, agri-food, culture, and tourism, as well as the potential for certified local products.

As part of the visit, the delegation toured a technological hub in Hangzhou, which hosts the robotics company Deep Robotics.
