Western Kentucky and FIU women's soccer end in 1-1 draw

Western Kentucky University and Florida International University played to a 1-1 draw in a Conference USA women's soccer match held in Miami, Florida.

The scoring opened in the 12th minute when Western Kentucky's Makenna Egan converted a penalty kick to give the Hilltoppers a 1-0 lead. FIU responded quickly, earning their own penalty kick in the 15th minute, which Roxy Brewer converted to equalize the match.

Both teams relied heavily on defensive play to maintain the deadlock. FIU's defense limited Western Kentucky to just six shot attempts throughout the game, while WKU goalkeeper Mia Riddick recorded several key saves to prevent the Panthers from taking the lead in the second half.
