Pitt Panthers defeat Bucknell 59-0 in dominant shutout

The Pitt Panthers maintained their perfect season with a 59-0 shutout victory over the Bucknell Bison at Acrisure Stadium. Sophomore quarterback Mason Heintschel led a dominant offensive performance, throwing for 403 yards and six touchdowns on 29 of 37 completions. Heintschel, supported by backups Holden Geriner and Corey Dailey, contributed to a program-record eight touchdown passes in a single game.

Pitt’s offense amassed 766 total yards, including 574 passing yards, shattering previous program records. Wide receiver Censere Lee recorded three touchdown receptions, while Demetrice McCray added two. Despite the blowout, head coach Pat Narduzzi noted concerns regarding team discipline, as the Panthers committed 16 penalties for 165 yards.

Bucknell, an FCS opponent, struggled to find offensive rhythm, managing only 138 total yards and failing to convert 11 of 13 third downs. The Bison's only scoring attempt was limited by a Pitt defense that held them to minimal yardage throughout the contest.

In separate college football action, Western Kentucky defeated Mercyhurst 52-7. WKU quarterback Rodney Tisdale Jr. threw four touchdown passes, helping the Hilltoppers secure a decisive home win.
