Western Kentucky volleyball sweeps Middle Tennessee

Western Kentucky University’s volleyball team secured a weekend sweep against Middle Tennessee State University, winning both matches played at E. A. Diddle Arena.

In the Friday match, the Hilltoppers defeated the Blue Raiders 3-0 with set scores of 25-23, 25-13, and 25-22. Western Kentucky maintained a strong defensive presence, holding MTSU to a .129 hitting percentage and limiting their service aces. WKU coach Travis Hudson noted the team’s ability to recover after a slow start in the first set.

Middle Tennessee followed with a loss in straight sets on Saturday. Despite leading the match in kills (40) and digs (43), the Blue Raiders struggled with the serve-and-pass game. Sophia Henry led MTSU with 12 kills, while Marianne Garcia recorded 14 digs. The loss brings Western Kentucky to an 8-0 record in Conference USA play.
