Western Lacrosse Association Announces 2026 Draft and All-Star Teams

The Western Lacrosse Association (WLA) has scheduled its 2026 Graduating Junior Draft for Thursday, January 29, to be held at the Langley Events Centre in British Columbia and streamed live online. The draft will feature two territorial protections per team followed by five rounds, with the order based on the reverse standings of the 2025 season. WLA Commissioner Paul Dal Monte said the draft "signals the unofficial start of the 2026 season" and highlighted the talent pool of graduating juniors.

In a separate announcement, the WLA released its 2026 First and Second Team All-Stars. The First Team goalie is Chris Origlieri of the Victoria Shamrocks, who posted 555 saves with an 87.4% save average. The Second Team goalie is Christian Del Bianco of the Coquitlam Adanacs, who recorded 535 saves at an 84.5% save percentage. Other notable selections include defense and offense standouts from teams such as the Nanaimo Timbermen, Maple Ridge Burrards, and Victoria Shamrocks.
