Western Lacrosse Association playoffs: Burrards beat Adanacs, Timbermen trail Shamrocks

Maple Ridge Burrards defeated Coquitlam Adanacs 9‑7 in the opening game of their Western Lacrosse Association series at Cam Neely Arena. General manager Lance Andre said the contest was close and highlighted the teams' familiarity. Burrards' Tyler Pace earned the first star with three goals and two assists, goaltender Jack Kask made 42 saves, and Garret Winter scored the game‑winning goal.

In a separate first‑round series, the Nanaimo Timbermen fell behind 2‑0 to the Victoria Shamrocks, losing 15‑6 in Game 1 and 17‑8 in Game 2. Team captain Colton Lidstone recorded a hat‑trick in the second loss, while the Timbermen struggled with defensive lapses and goaltending changes. The team now faces elimination unless it can win three straight games.
