Western League Premier Division matches end in draws for Buckland Athletic and Tavistock
Buckland Athletic and Bovey Tracey AFC played out a 1-1 draw in the South Devon derby at the Western Counties Roofing Ground. Bovey took the lead in the 28th minute when centre‑half Alex Cherry headed in a long throw from Jadore Lawson. Buckland equalised late when Ryan Bush delivered a long ball that Josiah McKayle headed home. Both managers, Ben Gerring of Bovey and Matt Cusack of Buckland, called the result fair, and the match attracted more than 400 spectators.
In a separate Western League Premier Division fixture, Tavistock and Saltash United shared points with a 2-2 draw at Langsford Park. Saltash’s first goal came from a Jack Jefford cross converted by Kieran O'Melia in the 36th minute, and O'Melia added a second. Tavistock’s Tom Chastey scored both of his team’s goals. Saltash manager Lee Britchford said he was delighted with the point, while Tavistock’s Steve Tully praised his side’s effort.
