Western Macedonia Panic Button usage data released

Official data released by the Greek Ministry of Citizen Protection provides details on the implementation of the ‘Panic Button’ application in Western Macedonia, following parliamentary inquiries by Vice President of Parliament Paris Koukoulopoulos regarding violence against women.

Between June 10, 2024, and June 30, 2026, a total of 158 individuals registered for the service in the region, consisting of 141 women and 17 men. During this period, there were 19 recorded activations of the emergency distress signals.

In Kozani, 76 women and 10 men registered, resulting in 13 Panic Button activations.

In Kastoria, 31 women and 4 men registered, with 4 recorded activations.
