Western Macedonia receives funding for road projects and home renovations
The Greek government has officially published a decision to accelerate expropriation processes for major road infrastructure projects in Western Macedonia. This measure, published in the Government Gazette, aims to expedite works in the Kozani regional unit, including improvements to the Kozani–Larissa national road, the construction of a southern ring road for Kozani, and new connections near the University of Western Macedonia and the Siatista area.
Separately, a 3 million euro program has been established to support the renovation and energy upgrading of older homes in Western Macedonia. Co-funded by Greece and the European Union, the initiative targets low and middle-income households. Eligible properties must have been built before December 31, 1990, and meet specific size requirements. The program provides grants ranging from 70% to 80% of costs to help residents improve their homes' energy efficiency by at least one grade.
