Western Macedonia road tender dispute involves regional officials
Sotiris Vosdou and Christos Bardakas have issued a response to the Governor of Western Macedonia regarding a dispute over the tender process for the Agia Paraskevi – Niki road maintenance project.
The disagreement stems from a Regional Committee meeting on September 7, 2026. While the Governor suggested that regional councilors from Florina voted to stop the tender to prevent the project from proceeding, Vosdou and Bardakas claim this is a distortion of their actual position. They stated that their proposal was to declare the tender “unprofitable” and to immediately re-tender the project.
The dispute centers on a budget of 645,000 euros. The lowest bidder submitted a proposal with a 28.18% discount, totaling 463,000 euros, while the second bidder offered a 2% discount, totaling 632,100 euros. The committee requested the first bidder to justify the significant price difference, leading to the current administrative contention.
